The BEST Listening Dog in the WORLD

April 14, 2013

Your entire argument is flawed because the guy is not only training the dog to recognize certain words, but is also training it to associate those words with specific actions. Because of this, those words do have meaning to the dog. When the guy says "sneak up to it" the dog understands that as "take slow steps towards the ball." Obviously the dog is only associating certain sounds with certain actions, and doesn’t understand each word individually. However, the dog is still associating specific English phrases with specific actions, which I would consider an extremely basic understanding of the English language.
