This is the Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany. It served as the inspiration for Disney's Sleeping Beauty castle.

This is pretty close to my house actually. It turns into a circus in summer though, with tourists and more tourists, but there is some nice hiking and biking around there if you get there early enough. When someone comes to visit, I usually take them for a bit of a hike around the Alpsee and then up to the Bleckenau alp for some beers or hot chocolate. We usually get to the Maria Bridge around sunset and after the tour busses leave. You don’t tend to run into too many tourists wandering more than 200m away from it, so you do get to have a quite chilled time and see some decent scenery. Protip: If you have more time and it is dry, keep going from the Bleckenau over to the Plansee in Austria via the Jaegersteig, quite a good bike ride if you have a day. 😉
